🙏 Powerful Spiritual Weapons ⚔

It’s the middle of the night and your child is afraid again…

You’re in the middle of a disagreement with a loved one, and it’s just escalating…

Your kids are fighting and are struggling just to get along…

What can you do?

You can speak softly and with kind words…. You can lovingly encourage them… And while those may be helpful things to do, it’s not actually where the real battle is. 💡

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

The real battle is a spiritual battle! Recently, we have seen powerful changes in our own family as we wage war with the spiritual weapons that the Lord has given us. Ephesians 6 tells us that these weapons include the sword of the Spirit (God’s Word) and prayer!

Take a moment to consider that: God’s Word and prayer are powerful weapons!

We are fighting against dark spiritual forces that will stop at nothing to take us out. But there is tremendous hope and great authority in the Word of God and in the prayers of His people. Jesus Himself overcame Satan’s temptations by using the Scriptures and was known for being alone in prayer with His Father.

In our own struggles recently, we have been applying these principles by:

• Using Scripture as a weapon: Psalm 91 is great for conquering fear at night.
• Standing together against the enemy in prayer, bringing unity in our marriage.
• Commanding the enemy to go in Jesus’ name, allowing space for healing and restoration in our family.

These are supernatural weapons that demolish the powers of the enemy, and we can wield these weapons! 🙌

The Power of God’s Word

And yet, there are millions of people around the world, in thousands of different language groups, that do not have the Bible in a language they understand.

Many people live in fear of the spiritual world and don’t realize that Jesus has given them authority to trample on the enemy (Luke 10:17-20).

Many are plagued by troubling thoughts and fears, and don’t know that the Lord had given them victory through His Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Without God’s Word, it is very difficult to effectively fight these battles. But there is hope in Jesus and the power of His Word!
