Getting Settled in PNG
It’s amazing that we’ve already been in Papua New Guinea (PNG) for over 2 weeks! God has been good to us. It’s really nice to be back in OUR house, and to be making it into our HOME again. Thank you for your continued prayers as we get settled back into life in Ukarumpa (our support center in PNG).
2-Week Training Course
I (James) have started a 2-week training course here in Ukarumpa, running from June 8 – 21.

We have 11 Papua New Guinean Bible translators from 8 different languages. They are here to learn how to better use a computer program called Paratext to help with their Bible translations. We have heard many translators say that with computers, they are able to work more efficiently and with greater accuracy. It’s awesome to be a part of this training!
We thought you would enjoy seeing some pictures from previous Paratext courses that I have taught or provided the materials for (while on furlough).

It’s encouraging to look back on these photos and see some of the work that God has done since we came to PNG. He brought us here to PNG for this purpose: to train Papua New Guinean Bible translators. And He has been faithful to make it possible for us to do this.
THANK YOU for your part in helping these men and women of God translate God’s Word into their OWN language.
Prayer and Praise
- Praise: We are adjusting well to life back in PNG.
- Prayer: For the Paratext course that James is teaching.
- Prayer: For the translators and mentors in the course: that they would learn well and be able to apply their new knowledge in their translation projects.
- Prayer: That we would settle well in our house and community here in PNG.
- Praise: We are SO grateful that God has increased our financial partnership. As of this morning, we have reached 100% of our monthly Wycliffe ministry budget. He is amazing!
Grateful for God bringing us back to PNG,
James and Christina
P.S. Over the next 2 weeks, we’ll be sharing prayer requests for the translators in the course on our Facebook Page. Thank you for your prayers for them.
