The night before we sent out our last visa update asking for prayer, we were quite worried and having an extremely hard time because we had just learned that unless God acted powerfully, our visas would come MANY weeks too late.  In that update, I quoted James 5:16b which says, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”  We found this to be incredibly true in our own lives because our worry level dropped significantly and we were able to really give the situation over to God and trust that He had it all under control.  Many people said that if we don’t get the visas in time, God has a reason, and that has given us comfort as well.

Our flights are scheduled for April 3.  Humanly speaking, we should receive the visas sometime between April 19 and May 3.  In the words of Jesus, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26b).

We also just found out that we have even less time than we originally thought.  Both Good Friday AND Easter Monday are national holidays in PNG, so they will not be processing visas on those days.  Therefore, the visas have to be approved and overnighted to us no later than tomorrow (Thursday) or next Tuesday (April 2), a total of 2 working days.  If they are sent by April 2, we will receive them the morning of April 3 and then can depart that same afternoon.  Talk about a God-sized task!

If the visas do not arrive in time, we will have to change our flights.  This will cost us significantly and we would appreciate prayers that God would provide the funds for the new tickets if that is what needs to happen.

To end with a praise… We had found out that because of a booking oversight, we were going to arrive in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea only to just miss our connection to our support center.  Therefore we would have to spend the weekend in Port Moresby, to the tune of about $450!  But, because of the oversight, they have agreed to wait for our connecting flight.  Praise God!
