Our check engine light came on about a month ago and we sent out a prayer request asking people to pray that God would provide wisdom where to take it and that we would receive honest (and affordable) service.  God answered!

We received a call from one of our prayer partners last Sunday saying he wanted to help and that his nephew works for Toyota.  I had gone to Auto Zone to get the codes from the check engine light, so told him what I knew and what I thought might be the solution: replace the Charcoal Canister.  He checked with his nephew, called back about 20 minutes later and said he was 99.9% sure the Charcoal Canister needed to be replaced (his nephew sees Toyotas all day, so diagnosing the problem was easy).  He also said his nephew could give us non-profit pricing and that once the part comes in, I could bring the car over to his house and he’d replace the part for me, no charge.

Last night, we went to his house and he installed it in about 15 minutes (it was a very easy job even though he had never seen one or installed one before).  A mechanic who did it all the time probably would have taken about 5 minutes yet he told us the standard bill would have been 2 hours!

We are amazed at what God did in this situation.  Instead of paying for a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem AND paying for the part, we only had to pay for the part: about $191.  God is SO good!
